Showing Our Disney Side At A Birthday Party!! #DisneySide

**All opinions expressed are 100% my own.  I was not compensated for this post.  I was given some promotional materials to throw my parties**

I don't know if you could call me a Disney Fan.  I only vacation there every year with my family, have a whole wardrobe made up of just Disney items for all four of us, own most of their DVD's, and have more Disney items in my home for the Kitchen, Bathroom etc then any other brand!!

So would you be surprised if I told you that most birthday parties in my family are Disney themed??  For my Sister Ashley's birthday, we made it a huge Disney deal!!  I was honored enough to receive a fun Disney box of goodies to make our party extra special.  Take a look at all the fun we had, and the goodies we received!!

We served pizza for dinner, and had a yummy tie dyed Mickey cake for dessert!!

We had a great time decorating!!

Then we played games and colored!!

Even the dogs had fun and dressed up!!

All in all we had a great time at our Disney Birthday Party, and we can't wait until our next one!!

"If You Give A Mouse A Cookie" From Reading Rainbow On DVD May 12th

First READING RAINBOW DVD from PBS Distribution, Available on May 12

Arlington, Va. – April 27, 2015 – “Butterfly in the sky, I can go twice as high...” is the opening to the instantly recognizable theme song for the iconic series READING RAINBOW. PBS Distribution announced today it is releasing four episodes from READING RAINBOW on the new DVD “IF YOU GIVE A MOUSE A COOKIE.” Since 1983, this beloved children’s television series has been bringing stories to life.

READING RAINBOW aired on PBS from 1983-2009. Hosted by LeVar Burton (“Roots,” “Star Trek: The Next Generation,” “Perception”) for its entire 26-year run, the program encouraged a love of literature in millions of children and garnered more than 200 awards, including 26 Emmys and a Peabody Award.

READING RAINBOW has helped children build lasting relationships with books at home and in the classroom. The four episodes and books, featured in this DVD are “If You Give a Mouse a Cookie,” read by Beth Howland, “Owen,” read by Matthew Broderick, “Two Old Potatoes and Me,” read by Jordan Puryear, and “Mr. George Baker,” read by Wayne Brady.

IF YOU GIVE A MOUSE A COOKIE” will be available on DVD May 12, 2015. The DVD run time is approximately 120 minutes and its SRP is $6.99. Additional details about the episodes included on this DVD are below.

If You Give a Mouse a Cookie” – Reader: Beth Howland
One thing leads to another in this episode, with LeVar in a bowling alley, showing how certain actions lead to consequences. Included is a piece on an expert at domino displays and domino art. Beth Howland reads “If You Give a Mouse a Cookie,” the tale of a little boy who offers a cookie to a mouse, and all the events that occur afterwards as a result.

Owen” – Reader: Matthew Broderick
It’s easy to get flashbacks while watching READING RAINBOW. Now it’s LeVar’s turn, as he gets in touch with visions of “his boyhood.” Matthew Broderick reads “Owen,” about a little mouse who’s very attached to his security blanket and doesn’t want to give it up, even if it means he will be teased when he starts school.

Two Old Potatoes and Me” – Reader: Jordan Puryear
Jordan Puryear reads “Two Old Potatoes and Me,” about a girl who works with her father to recycle two old potatoes by replanting them using the sprouts to grow a whole new crop of potatoes. LeVar, working with his daughter, is inspired to make a potato dish from a recipe in the book.

Mr. George Baker” – Reader: Wayne Brady
Wayne Brady narrates the story of an elderly man who decides to go back to school to learn to read, even though he is almost 100, and his relationship with his young neighbor as they wait for the bus every day.

S.O.S Pads Can Be Used For More Then Just Pots And Pans!!

**All opinions expressed are 100% my own.  I was not compensated for this post.  I was given product for review purposes.**

S.O.S® Brand History

In 1917, a Wear-Ever Aluminum cooking utensil salesman by the name of Irwin Cox was looking for a way his customers could keep their new pans shining bright. His invention: a pre-soaped steel wool pad. The idea was born in the basement of Cox’s home by dipping steel wool balls into a hand-grade liquid soap and then allowing the pads to air dry. Cox’s wife called the pads S.O.S, which stood for “Save Our Saucepans.” The S.O.S® pads were so popular that Cox found himself with a hot new product line. A U.S. patent was issued for the concept in 1918 and the following year an investor group was formed in California to manufacture and sell the product. Almost 100 years later, S.O.S® remains the number one problem-solver for America’s greasiest, grimiest, grungiest jobs.

I think pretty much everyone knows what an S.O.S pad is, and more likely then not has used them multiple times to clean their pots and pans of that caked on food that just won't come off.  But did you know that S.O.S pads can be used for so much more??

S.O.S pads are a steeple in this house.  We use them for pans, cleaning our stove burners, our gas grill, even our lawn chairs.

Here is a list of some of the ways we use S.O.S Pads!!

Pots and Pans- This one is obvious.  It was what the S.O.S pads were originally invented for.  They can be used on a variety of pan types.  Always test on a small area first before scrubbing too hard just to be safe!!

Kitchen Stoves- We have a gas stove with a white porcelain top.  We use the S.O.S on the burners, and all foods come right off.  We do use them on the porcelain as well, but much more gently as to avoid scratches.

Kitchen Sink- Our stainless steel sink gets hard water stains on it, and S.O.S pads clean them right off with minimal scrubbing!!

Oven- I have the original self cleaning oven (you know the one you clean yourself!!)  Scrubbing is made much easier with the S.O.S pads.

Coffee Pot- S.O.S pads easily remove coffee stains.  I give them a good scrubbing, and then run them through the dish washer.

Dish Washer- Have you ever looked at the bottom of your dishwasher (inside and out?)  It can get really gross.  S.O.S pads work very well on dirty water stains, and the ick that accumulates.

Toilets- The one chore that I hate more then anything.  It's just eww!!  I use the S.O.S pads around the bottom seal.  They work really well.

Lawn Chairs- I have white plastic lawn chairs that become dirty, stained, and covered in pollen every year.  I use the S.O.S pads to make them look like new each spring.

Grill- This is all my Husbands responsibility.  He messes it, he cleans it!!  S.O.S pads do wonders to get burnt and stuck on food, and tin foil right off.

Hub Caps- Regular soap and water never get all that dirt and oil off.  S.O.S pads work wonders!!

Clorox recommends using the S.O.S pads on grills as well.  Check out this video to see the best way to use them.

Do you have other uses for S.O.S pads not listed here??  I would love to hear them!!

Mothers Day Gift Guide- Nutri Ninja With Auto-iQ Review

**All opinions expressed are 100% my own.  I was not compensated for this post.  I was given an item for review purposes.**

The Nutri Ninja with Auto-iQ takes the guesswork out of drink making. Auto-iQ technology features intelligent programs that combine unique, timed pulsing, blending and pausing patterns that do the work for you. The digital countdown timer displays how much time is remaining on the selected Auto-iQ program, or counts up to track blending time when using the two manual speeds. Each preprogrammed setting is designed to do the work for you and deliver consistent and delicious drinks with maximum nutrient and vitamin extraction — all at the touch of a button. Combined with Nutri Ninja Pro Extractor Blades, Auto-iQ breaks down whole fruits, vegetables, ice and seeds for maximum nutrient and vitamin extraction. Small and regular Nutri Ninja Cups with Sip & Seal Lids allow you to make nutrient-rich Super Juices to take on-the-go.

Mothers Day is next week (yikes!!)  Have you picked out that perfect gift for your Mom yet??  Is she a health conscience Mom, or maybe just someone who loves cool new kitchen gadgets??

I am a techy person, and also absolutely love anything new for my kitchen!!  Recently I was able to review the Nutri Ninja® Auto-iQ

Nutri Ninja® Auto-iQ ($139)

·         One-touch Intelligent Controls deliver powerful nutrient and vitamin extraction producing consistently smooth results at the touch of a button.
·         Prepare immaculate recipes, from blending perfectly smooth soups and beverages, grinding meats, chopping herbs, emulsifying dips and mixing cake batters.
·         Features 1000 watts of power and includes 18-ounce, 24-ounce, and 32-ounce Nutri Ninja® single-serve cups with Sip & SealTM Lids.
·         All detachable parts are dishwasher-safe and crafted of 100 percent BPA-free plastic

My Husband and boys love smoothies.  We throw all sorts of things in them.  We've tried all different fruits and yogurts, and we even add veggies!!

We usually just throw things together to try new smoothies with out a recipe, but Ninja has a huge selection of recipes to choose from, and from personal experience, the Kiwi Cooler is delicious!!!

One of our favorite features of the Nutri Ninja Auto-iQ is the count down timer.  The kids love it the most, because it tells them when it's time for their tasty treat.  They don't have to keep asking us every three seconds!!  We also love that the container your items are blended in, is also the container you can drink out of.  Less mess, and a lot less clean up.

The Nutri Ninja comes with three different sized containers (18 oz, 24 oz, 32 oz) so you can make something for just yourself, or something to share.

We are really loving our Ninja and can't wait to see what other fun drinks and meals we can make!!

Here's another fun recipe for you to try-

1/4 cup spinach, packed
1/4 cup kale leaves, packed
1/3 small banana, peeled
1/3 cup fresh pineapple, 1-inch chunks
1/3 cup fresh mango, 1-inch chunks
1/8 cup coconut water
1/4 cup ice

Container: Regular 24-ounce Cup

·         Place all of the ingredients into the Regular 24-ounce Nutri Ninja® Cup in the order listed, starting with spinach.
·         Turn unit ON and select "Nutri Ninja® Auto-iQTM ULTRA BLEND"
